Making a claim will not automatically lose you all your no claims bonus. Most insurers will relegate you only two years meaning if you had 5 years no claims then you would still have 3 years. You can of course opt to protect this with an extra payment.
Although it's cheaper to have third party fire and theft, if you ride a more expensive motorcycle make a comprehensive policy may offer more protection for any damage to your vehicle. Some larger bikes can only be insured on a comprehensive agreement.
Never go with the first quote you receive even if it looks reasonable, always compare quotes to see that you get everything you want included in the price. Sometimes you are offered extra that do not apply to you, other times buyers miss these extras, beacuse they took the first quote.
