Ski Travel Insurance

Sometimes things happen abroad you may not have the experience to deal with. Look for a travel insurance that offers legal assistance and advice to help you get compensation for events that may have ruined your holiday.

If you intend to go backpacking for a long period of time you should buy a travel insurance that reflects this. Annual travel insurance policies tend to allow you to travel as many times as you like during your year, but only for a limited amount of days per trip. These periods of time are no normally long enough to cover backpacking trips.

Sometimes when on holiday something could occur that requires you to have legal advice, where an accident has occurred but no one accepts responsibility or for poor hospital or other treatment. See if the ski travel insurance policy you are about to buy, has legal protection or advice also.

Personal items may be covered under your contents insurance if applicable, but you must understand which policy will give the right amount of protection. Read your ski travel insurance documentation to fully be aware what policy will give you the right cover.

Look out for any age restrictions to family policies that included children. Some policies may say that you require an adult policy for a 16 year old, even if they are still at home and at school. Some policies may allow that child to remain on the policy so long as they are at home and not in full time employment. If you have children at this age, you should check the small print.
